Mari Boine a composé la musique et joué un rôle solo dans Vuolgge mu mielde bassivárrái / Come with me to the sacred mountain, un court-métrage réalisé par Mona J. Hoel en 1996. 

Le film est une interprétation libre du baptême forcé du peuple sami qui avait une vision chamanique du monde, qui a eu lieu dans toute la Scandinavie.

Il a été projeté dans la section Panorama du Festival international du film de Berlin en 1996.
